It all began years past with a Sony DSCH2 Cybershot point & shoot. Sticking with what I knew but wanting to upgrade the platform, I bought my first DSLR in the Sony A200. Liking both the platform and the brand, I quickly moved on to the A700 and added an A580 to my day pack. I dabbled with a Sony Nex7 with a Carl Zeiss 24mm 1.8f lens, and recently put a strap on a new A7 with lens adapter. With the exception of underwater photos shot with an Olympus 850sw, and a brief foray with a Nikon D90, I've been exclusively Sony in both my camera choices and 90% of my lens gear.

My favourite Sony lenses include the CZ 24-70mm, 70-200G and the 70-400G lens. I use a 30mm Macro lens to get close, and the 11-18mm to get wide.

From my avid hobbyist perspective, photography has been a truly creative journey. I'm learning much along the way including the real value of excellent equipment, and the reality that all the amazing tools don't replace the talented, exploring eye behind the viewfinder. I'm pleased to say I see a lot more today than I did before I picked up my first Cybershot.
